Hello! I'm SARAH BRINO
I'm an associate at Frog Point Therapy
Meet Sarah
Being human is rarely simple and for many finding their way to therapy, life has felt anything but easy lately. Whether someone is moving through profound loss or simply trying to keep their head above water in a world that can feel overwhelming, therapy can be a space to do so with support and connection.
Sarah Brino is a licensed professional counselor in Washington DC, Maryland, and Wyoming, and has been supporting adults navigating the complex terrain of trauma, grief and life transitions since 2007. Loss shows up in many forms — through death or illness, career changes, relationships coming to an end, or even during transitions that are supposed to feel “happy.” Grief can often stir up older, unexamined wounds that may not have had the chance to heal. For many, the nervous system has grown so accustomed to surviving that it needs gentle guidance to remember what safety feels like so that a person can begin to feel more like themselves again.
Sarah works with adults 18 and over who are looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore their experiences of grief, trauma and transition at a pace that feels manageable. Her work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that a counselor’s role isn’t to fix someone’s life or tell them what to do; rather, it’s to walk beside someone, hold up a mirror and help people sort through what is working and what isn’t. Therapy may involve laughter, tears, and honest conversation – sometimes even conflict – but it will always be real work. Sarah helps clients deepen their understanding of who they are and how they function best so they can figure out how to keep moving forward with greater care and ease.
Sarah’s approach integrates practical tools aimed at providing more immediate relief (DBT and Polyvagal Therapy), with deeper trauma-informed practices (EMDR and parts work) to address what might be contributing to client distress. She incorporates identity-affirming perspectives and draws upon her background in leadership and career development to support the full picture of her clients’ lives.
Sarah recognizes the courage it takes to reach out for support. She reassures her clients that it is okay to not be okay, and that healing is not about erasing pain but about creating space for both grief and growth. She looks forward to the opportunity to help clients move toward lives that hold more hope, meaning, and connection.
